Who are Disulfican?
Disulfican are a multidisciplinary scientific team led by Professor Weiguang Wang at the University of Wolverhampton who for the last 10 years has researched and demonstrated that Disulfiram (A drug routinely over the previous 60 years has been used for the treatment of alcoholism) can be used as a treatment against Malignant Mesothelioma by encapsulating the drug preventing it from degradation in the body.
Disulfican is creating an affordable treatment to tackle rare, aggressive and terminal cancers such as Malignant Mesothelioma. Due to its rarity and absence of effective treatments has only a median survival rate of 14.8 months
The Disulfican Drug
Disulfican have developed a modified version of Disulfiram, an existing licensed drug so that it can reach cancer tumours where it attacks and destroys cancer cells.
Our treatment can increase the likelihood of surviving rare terminal cancers such as Malignant Mesothelioma which currently has no cure or permanent treatment.
Disulfican are a dedicated team of researchers who aim to create a long-term cure and to give patients a fighting chance against
